The U.S. Coast Guard reports it wrapped up three rescues of people trapped on boats on South Padre Island.

The Coast Guard said three Mexican flagged fishing vessels ran aground around 11:00 p.m. Monday night because of Tropical Storm Hermine.

One rescue reportedly was finished early Tuesday morning off Access Six.

From that boat, the Coast Guard said they pulled seven people and one dog.

The Coast Guard continued to work two more rescues from two boats off Isla Blanca Park.

Five people were said to be on each boat.

According to the Coast Guard, the boats claimed safe harbor because of the storm.

Those onboard should not face legal trouble.

The Coast Guard said the captains on the two last boats requested to stay on board.

The boats' owners are reportedly on their way from Mexico to figure out how to get the boats of the beach and back home.
