Coastal counties to see insurance surcharge

In a few months, Cameron and Willacy County residents might have to pay a surcharge in their insurance.
The two Rio Grande Valley counties are expected to see a surcharge with the proposed windstorm insurance charges.
The charges are set to be through an individual TMs car insurance for a catastrophic loss, like a hurricane in the Gulf Coast.
The money gathered from the surcharge will cover damages done to homes and vehicles.
Coastal counties, like Willacy and Cameron will be affected by the proposed windstorm insurance charges.
Fourteen coast counties in Texas will be affected by this proposal.
