A Pharr man is behind bars after state troopers allegedly found five bundles of cocaine in his car and another bundles hidden in a baby's crib at his house.
A Texas Department of Public Safety state trooper pulled over 25-year-old Arnulfo Ivan Alvarado for a window tint violation on Wednesday.
Court records released in the case on Thursday show that Alvarado appeared nervous during the traffic stop.
The state trooper searched his car and allegedly found five bundles of cocaine inside a hidden compartment in the driver's seat of his Ford Focus.
Authorities later searched Alvarado's mobile home at 2819 North Erica Street in Pharr where authorities found five more bundles of cocaine stuffed in a duffel bag that was hidden under a blanket in a baby's crib.
Court records show that authorities formally filed federal drug charges against Alvarado on Thursday morning.
The records show 25-year-old Alvarado is an American citizen and remains in federal custody.
Public records show that he does not appear to have a prior criminal record.
