Dave & Buster’s to open in McAllen
The Rio Grande Valley now has a new entertainment spot to eat, drink and play.
Dave & Buster’s can now call McAllen home. While it’s the first opening for the Valley, it’s the 100th for the company.
"It’s kinda like you’re about to get married, you’re getting up to the plate, and for the most part, you’re excited about everything that’s going to come afterwards,” said General Manager Raul Gonzalez.
Doors don't officially open until Monday, but CBS 4 News was given an early inside look at the entertainment hub, filled with games and large HD screens to make any sports fan happy.
Gonzalez says the cities growth and their priority to the community is something they’re looking forward to.
"We're very, very vetted with the Make-A-Wish foundation,” Gonzalez said. “We do quite a bit with them and we're excited to finally be here so that we can start working with our local chapter but again, we're a part of the community.”
About 300 employees from the Valley are staffed at the new entertainment spot.
"If you can share that same passion with 300 people that not only know the area but are a part of the area and know our guests and can connect and relate to the diversity of what the Rio Grande Valley is, I think that’s really where we can really make things probably an exceptionally memorable experience,” said Gonzalez.
