Disabled woman goes missing after getting in stranger's car

Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a disabled woman who got into a stranger's car in the Southmost area of Brownsville.

Brownsville police said family members reported that 27-year-old Maria Isabel Zepeda has gone missing.

Zepeda, who is intellectually disabled, was last seen on the 3000 block of Stanolind Avenue.

The neighborhood is located across the street from the Southmost HEB grocery store.

Witnesses told police that they saw a man in his 50 or 60s escort Zepeda inside his white or light-colored 1980s Mercury Grand Marquis.

Zepeda was last seen in the front passenger seat of the car on East 30th Street and has not been returned home.

Suspect Description

A witness told police that the suspect older male subject, possibly in his 50 TMs to 60 TMs with salt and pepper hair and a long beard.

Victim Description

Zepeda was last seen wearing a red blouse with butterfly designs and a pair of faded blue jeans. She also carries a large black purse with personal effects
