Rescue teams have resumed efforts to search for 18-year-old Adrian Frias, who went missing at a canal south of McAllen on Thursday.
The Texas Department of Public Safety was called to the scene Tuesday morning to pull out a cable from the canal.
McAllen Fire Department Lieutenant Rene Alanis said that DPS plans to bring in vacuum trucks.
They will add pressure underneath the tunnel on the south side to hopefully free the body.
It would take some time for the body to exit the 800 yards on the north side.
Divers have not decided whether they will go into the water or not.
