      Drive friendly, drive safe

      The kids are back in school and to make sure they make it there safe every single morning the Texas Department of Transportation launched a new campaign.It is called "Drive Friendly... Drive Safe..." and it is intended to keep Texas roads safe by sharing the road responsibly with pedestrians and bicyclists, exercising caution in work zones and driving at speeds appropriate to road conditions.Ruby Martinez with TxDot stopped by Thursday to explain.She said that in 2012, vehicles struck more than 5,000 pedestrians resulting in 2,962 serious injuries and 481 fatalities.
