Driver arrested after being rescued from truck lodged in canal

      A man was arrested after an early morning crash left the truck he was driving in a canal.

      The incident happened in Brownsville around 9 a.m.

      Police said they received a call from an employee at the train company nearby who told them a truck was in the canal.

      When authorities arrived, they found a red Ford truck inside the canal by Old Alice Road in Brownsville.

      The man was still inside the truck when authorities arrived and he was pulled out of the canal by the Brownsville Fire Department.

      The Brownsville Fire Department is currently working to pull the truck out of the canal at this time.

      Police believe the man was intoxicated, so he was arrested on the scene of the crash.

      Authorities say he will most likely be charged with public intoxication.
