A Primera couple is facing criminal charges after authorities allegedly found cocaine and a loaded gun inside their home with the 6-year-old child.
Harlingen police arrested both Edward Lee Puga and Valerie Lizette Alamillo over the weekend.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the investigation started with a drug raid off Gonzalez Street in Primera back in February.
Authorities allegedly found a small amount of cocaine and a loaded handgun inside a room where their 6-year-old child had access.
Deputies arrested Puga on a drug charge at the time but added a child endangerment charge this past weekend.
Harlingen police also charged Alamillo with possession of a controlled substance on Saturday.
Both of them appeared before a Harlingen municipal judge on Sunday where Puga got a $25,000 dollar bond and Alamillo got a $20,000 dollar bond.
