Two men are expected to face a judge after a traffic stop where they allegedly threw a bag with 3 pounds of cocaine out of the window.
Members of the Hidalgo County High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force are investigating the incident.
Investigators told Action 4 News that officers received a tip about a black Chevrolet Cobalt with a large amount of cocaine.
Authorities spotted the car off Sioux Road and U.S. Highway 281 where officers pulled it over for a traffic violation.
An off-duty Pharr police officer told HIDTA agents that he saw the two men inside the car throw out a backpack.
Investigators allegedly found a bundle with 3.2 pounds of cocaine inside the backpack.
The two men are expected to be arraigned before Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Rosa Trevio on Wednesday afternoon.
