Drunk driver slams into home, nearly hits grandfather

A drunk driver is behind bars after he drove his car into a Brownsville home, almost hitting the family's grandfather.

The homeowner told Action 4 News that this is not the first time cars have crashed on his property.

He said he has seen three cars crash at the home on the 5000 block of S. Oklahoma Road.

Department of Public Safety Sgt. Johnny Hernandez said there is a curve in the road right before the home, that plays a major role in why these accidents happen.

The homeowner said the driver came very close to hitting his grandfather in the living room.

After hitting the home, the driver managed to back up and attempted to flee.

Cameron County Sheriff Department Troopers were able to catch up to the suspect and place him under arrest.
