Drunk driving accident leaves one woman dead, child injured

An investigation is underway after a man allegedly drove drunk, causing a rollover that left one person dead and a child injured.
The accident happened on Victoria Road north of U.S. Expressway 83 in Donna around 11:45 p.m. Friday.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a man was speeding while driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, and hit a Chevrolet Impala causing a rollover.
The accident killed Maria Cruz Arreazola, who was a passenger of the vehicle.
The 62-year-old Alamo woman died at the scene.
A man near the scene of the accident helped the child out of the vehicle, and then was rushed to the Knapp Medical Center with minor injuries.
Paramedics rushed the driver of the Impala with unknown injuries, and another female passenger to the hospital.
Their identities have not been released.
Authorities charged the man with intoxicated manslaughter and three counts of intoxicated assault, and were transported to the Hidalgo County Jail.
The identity of the man has not been released.
DPS is investigating the crash at this time.
