DWI chase ends with fight
A man is out on bond after he allegedly led deputies on a DWI chase just south of Olmito.
It all happened off of west FM 1732 and west of FM 1421 around 1 a.m. Monday.
Cameron County Pct. 4 deputy constables arrested 37-year-old Jose Angel Flores on multiple charges.
Authorities told Action 4 News that a deputy saw Flores weaving between lanes.
Flores allegedly kept driving as they attempted to stop the vehicle.
The grey Ford F-150 eventually stopped at a home off of Campo Road in San Benito.
The 37-year-old driver allegedly resisted arrests and taking a breathalyzer.
According to the deputy constable, they inspected the vehicle and found an open beer container.
Court records obtained by Action 4 News reveal that Flores' speech was slurred, he had blood-shot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
Deputies sent him to the Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville for a mandatory blood draw.
Flores is facing DWI, evading arrest, resisting arrest and failure to identify charges but is out on $25,000 in bonds.
Court records show Flores had another DWI charge while driving with a child passenger under the age of 15.
