Edinburg man wins brand new car from Action 4 News

Congratulations to Germainn Navarro of Edinburg!

He won a brand new 2012 Chevy Sonic from Action 4 News, Stripes Convenience Stores and Tipotex Chevrolet.

Navarro was one of NINE finalists in our car giveaway contest to come by the Action 4 News studios in Harlingen on Wednesday evening.

All the finalists had to guess the number of 20-ounce Stripes cups stuffed inside the car.

With a guess of 1,523 cups inside the car, Navarro came the closest without going over.

      Deserving Family

Navarro told Action 4 News that the grand prize win couldn't have come at a better time for him and his family.

Both he and his wife become emotional when talking about how their family car constantly breaks down on them.

Navarro said their car has become a great expense for them and the 2012 Chevy Sonic will be a great help.

Once he learned he was a finalist, Navarro went to a local car dealership with a 20-ounce Stripes cup in hand.

He studied the car, did the math and guessed it could hold 1,500 cups.

Navarro said he added an extra 23 cups while taking a look at the car in our TV studios.

      Prizes For Other Finalists

The other finalists are not going home empty handed.

They guessed the following number of cups:

The eight other finalists all received a gift bag from Stripes Convenience Stores.

Among the goodies in the bags were breakfast taco gift certificates and a family four-pack of tickets to Schlitterbahn on South Padre Island.
