Police arrested an Edinburg woman accused of robbing a man at gunpoint on Thursday, according to a criminal complaint.

On Nov. 9 at about 12:18 p.m., police were dispatched to the 800 block of West University Drive in reference to a robbery.

Police say they met with a man saying "a female known to him as Venessa Moralez waved him down from a black four door passenger car," then demanded "everything he had on him" while displaying a black handgun, according to the criminal complaint.

After the man gave her $1,200 and his cell phone, Moralez fled the scene.

Moralez was charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

A justice of the peace set bond at $75,000.

Moralez remains in the Hidalgo County jail and couldn't be reached for comment.
