Authorities have arrested the eighth suspect in the kidnapping and murder of a man taken from from a Brownsville restaurant.
Brownsville police arrested 37-year-old Serafin Lazaro-Lugo on a murder charge early Wednesday morning.
Jail records show that Lazaro-Lugo is linked to the July 18th murder of Reyes Bocanegra.
Eighth Suspect Caught
The 22-year-old man was kidnapped by armed men from the Mariscos Playa Azul restaurant and left dead inside an SUV in Rancho Viejo.
Investigators said authorities arrested Lazaro-Lugo at a home off Foster Street in Edinburg just after midnight early Wednesday morning.
Lazaro-Lugo is the eighth suspect arrested in the case, which police say is a drug-related crime with ties to Matamoros.
Ninth Suspect At Large
Brownsville police told Action 4 News that authorities are looking for Orlando Martinez Perez as the ninth suspect in the case.
Investigators said Perez goes by the nickname "Homie" and was last known to be living at 1927 Ruby Street in Donna.
Perez is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Authorities dropped charges against a tenth man arrested in the case after learning he was at another place at the time of the crime.
