People across the nation and the state are coming together to show support for those killed or injured in Monday TMs tragedy at the Boston Marathon.
Chris Field, race director for the Bryan/College Station Marathon, is organizing Run for Boston 4/17.
On Wednesday, April 17th, Fields is asking runners, non-runners, and people who believe in hope and peace to run together as a sign of solidarity for the people and runners of Boston.
Fields says the idea is simple. Gather your friends, pick a place, wear blue or yellow and take a picture with a Run For Boston sign and post it to their facebook page.
All of the pictures will be later compiled and made into a book that will be sent to the organizers of the Boston Marathon.
Fields says they decided to push this event after receiving tons of call from running community asking how they could help or show support.
Fields said this was a tangible and meaningful way of doing something.
Seven runners from the Bryan/College station running club participated in the Boston Marathon. All are safe.
Fields says as a race organizer he is always thinking of runners TM safety, so to see this happen was really heartbreaking.
