Five young women are facing criminal charges after a Facebook post led to a weekend attack outside a Harlingen grocery store.
It all happened at the H-E-B grocery store off South Expressway 77/83 in Harlingen around 9:12 p.m. Friday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that a young woman and four of her friends attacked another young woman outside the store.
Harlingen police said it all started with an argument about a post to the social media network Facebook.
Authorities did not say what was written but police said the five young women pulled the victim TMs hair, pushed her and punched her several times.
The five women fled the scene in two cars.
The alleged victim did not need medical treatment but a security guard witnessed the incident and gave police information about the cars.
Police officers tracked down the five woman at a home on the 900 block of West Wright Street.
Investigators identified the suspects as:
Amanda Lee Chavez, 19 Cindy Camarillo, 18 Isamar Andaverde, 18 Laura Andaverde, 17 Clarissa Yanira Reyes, 18
All five women appeared before a Harlingen municipal court judge on Saturday morning where they were each issued $2,500 dollar bonds.
