Family, friends react to charges filed in death of cyclist

Family and friends of Eddie Arguelles crowded the Edinburg municipal courtroom waiting to catch a glimpse of the men accused of taking his life.
"I have no words for them. I hope they are sorry for what they did. I wish that if they could take it back, (they TMd) do something different, Arguelles coworker and friend Melissa Robles said.
Edinburg police say Arguelles was struck and killed in a hit and run accident while riding his bicycle early Thursday morning.
The alleged driver Emilio Gomez did not stop to render aid, instead police say he turned off his headlights and drove off.
The impact from the accident caused Arguelles to land in the bed of the truck.
Hours later investigators say Gomez and Nelson Cantu were caught trying to hide Arguelles' body off Iowa Road.
Melissa Robles a friend and colleagues of Arguelles was in court to show her support for his family, but says it was not easy.
"It brought me to tears. Seeing them was one thing, just knowning the things they did to him, it broke my heart all over again," she said.
Arguelles worked in the IT department at UPTA.
Coworkers said the office will not be the same without cheerful Arguelles.
They now cling to cherished memories of their beloved collegue.
Eddie Palacios who was with Arguelles the morning of the accident says his friend started biking to live a healthier lifestyle.
"What I'm going to miss about that. The man he was going to be, Palacios said holding back tears.
"Someone like that doesn TMt come around very often. I TMm going to miss him i'm going to miss him very very much." He said.
Gomez is also facing additional charges of accident involving injury or death and tampering with physical evidence.
Gomez is being held on a $2,250,000 million dollar bond and Cantu a $50,000 bond.
