Armando Mando Del Toro told his family he was going home before his passing this morning.

The 24-year-old stopped receiving treatement, according to his family.

Del Toro was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma, which quickly took a toll on his body.

His leg was amputated as a result of the cancer.

The Rio Grande Valley came together to support Del Toro and donate monetary fund TMs to provide him with the leg amputation surgery he desperately needed.

Unfortunately, the cancer was also in his lungs. He decided this week to stop treatment saying he was ready to go home.

His family notified Action 4 News of his passing.
