Father arrested for leaving son in moon jump while he shops

A man who let his son play on a moon jump while he went shopping has landed himself behind bars.

Palmhurst Police said Edgar Morales left his son playing in the moon jump when he went inside Walmart, according to police.

The 6-year-old boy somehow made his way back to his dad TMs vehicle where a security guard found him alone.

The incident happened on Saturday, May 17 around 3:26 p.m. in Palmhurst.

Morales was arrested and charged with child abandonment with intent to return.

The charge is a state jail felony, which is punishable for up to two years behind bars and/or a $10,000 fine.
