Crews have put out a fire at a South Texas natural gas plant operated by Exxon Mobil Corp.
Company spokesman Dave Eglinton said Wednesday that the facility at Kingsville remains shut down as authorities seek the cause of the blaze.
Nobody was hurt in the fire that broke out around 1 a.m. CST Monday.
Eglinton says the fire was extinguished Tuesday night and fire crews would remain at the scene to monitor the site.
He says Exxon Mobil will assess the damage and develop plans to restore operations in a safe and responsible manner.
Eglinton did not provide a timetable on when the plant, located about 150 miles southeast of San Antonio, would reopen.
The unit processes about 500 million cubic feet of natural gas and associated liquids per day.
