Fire rips through home leaving mom and 6 children homeless

Harlingen Fire Department responds to fire

A house fire has left a family of seven homeless amid plummeting temperatures.

The fire happened off Rangerville Road in Harlingen.

Cameron County Emergency Manager Humerto Barrera said the mobile home is completely destroyed as a result of the blaze.

The Harlingen Fire Department responded to the fire around 7:00 p.m.

The fire department is unaware how the fire started, and the fire is still under investigation.

The single mom and six children are currently displaced as a result of the fire.

American Red Cross has been contacted.
