Flooding has prompted authorities to shut down several roads in the Edinburg area.
Rains moved through the Rio Grande Valley early Tuesday afternoon.
The sea breeze showers dropped locally heavy rain in several areas.
Flooding from the rain prompted authorities to shut down the following intersections in Edinburg:
Van Week and Veterans Sprague and 10th Lovett and 21st Lovett and 22nd 20th and Peter 10th and Fay
Drivers should treat the following intersections as four way stops because traffic signals are not working:
Monte Cristo and U.S. 281 Monte Cristo and Business 281 (Closner Blvd)
Area residents are asked to take alternate routes or wait for floodwaters to subside.
Officials are monitoring weather conditions before they lift the road closures.
