Florida man wanted on moltestation charges is caught in the Valley

A Florida man wanted for sexual assault of a child is arrested in the Valley.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge arrested 40-year-old Ramon Cedano as he attempted to cross the bridge by foot.

According to officer Cedano, who is a Mexican national and lawful permanent residents from Apopka, Florida, presented his LPR card as identification which alerted them that there was a warrant for his arrest out of Florida.

Cerdano was then taken to secure area, to run a secondary check on the warrant.

There officer learned Cedano was wanted by the Orange County, Florida Sheriff TMs department for an alleged incident that took place on 2011.

According to records Cedano is charged with four counts of sexual assault/lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12, a second-degree felony.

At this time Cerdano is being held at the Hidalgo County Jail awaiting extradition back to Florida.
