Former Edinburg football player jailed for Radio Shack robbery
A former Edinburg High School football player is facing criminal charges for robbing a Radio Shack at gunpoint in San Antonio.
According to media reports, 19-year-old Joel Alex Rios walked into a Radio Shack in San Antonio with a gun and stole an iPod and a Kindle.
According to KSAT, the former Edinburg Bobcat football player robbed the store and then jumped into a getaway car.
The station also reported that Rios and another man could be linked to a string of robberies at the store.
Rios, who graduated from Edinburg High School in 2012 and had been attending UTSA, was tracked down and charged with aggravated robbery.
San Antonio police are working to learn the identity of the getaway driver, who will also face criminal charges.
