Former patients file lawsuit against McAllen doctor

A McAllen doctor, charged in a seven-count indictment, is now facing a lawsuit from his former patients.

Mikal Watts, Brian Berryman, and special counsel Rose Vela will be representing victims in the Valley and San Antonio who were, "intentionally and wrongfully diagnosed and treated by Doctor Jorge Zamora-Quezada."

Zamora-Quesada was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, five counts of health care fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Department of Justice officials say he falsely diagnosed his patients with rheumatoid arthritis, administered unnecessary medical tests and treatments.

Several Valley patients have already spoken out to us regarding the indictment.
