      Free Family Play Comes To Harlingen

      Are you looking for things to do with your family this holiday season?

      Oliver, a British musical based upon the novel Oliver twist by Charles Dickens is coming to Calvary Baptist Church in Harlingen.

      The show is absolutely free. After months of practice, dedication and hard work, it will soon be show time as the play will be showcased to the public.

      "It's going to be good", said Griffen Carter who plays Oliver in the show.

      Cater tells Action 4 News, "Oliver is basically a person who says I want some more".

      "So it's all about food, and that's Oliver's character he just wants love." Carter along with his cast members is extremely excited about the show.

      "It's so fun, the music is so fun it's a large cast lots of kids", said cast member Jennifer Burns.

      "It warms your heart to see you people out here with just so much talent", said cast member Brandon Krupala.

      "It's a fantastic play it's wonderful", said cast member Parker Coppins.

      "It would be just a wonderful experience for anyone to come and watch", said Coppins.

      Harlingen area school children will also get to enjoy the entertainment.

      "We'll be doing the play right here at Calvary Baptist for several local elementary schools", said cast member Brandon Krupala.

      Those involved say it's all about bring families together to enjoy great entertainment.

      "The Harlingen family entertainment started about a year ago with two things in mind", said cast member Bruce Leibert.

      "One for Christian performers to come together to provide wholesome entertainment to the community."

      "Second we have a real heart for the school children."

      The first performance will be on Thursday December 2nd at 1:00 pm, followed performances on Friday December 3rd and Saturday December 4th at 7:00 pm.

      Another Thursday performance will take place December 9th at 1:00 pm, followed by performances on Friday December 10th and Saturday December 11th at 7:00 pm.

      Again the show is free and open to the public.
