There are some free legal clinics coming to the Valley to help students with immigration benefits.
They are targeted for those who were brought to the United States at a young age illegally and are applying for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program or DACA.
Candido Renteria stopped by Friday to explain the program and said they are reaching out to Valley high schools and community organizations so that students and their families have an opportunity to take advantage of the clinics.
The clinics are being put together by The University of Texas Pro Bono Program and the Texas Civil Rights Project.
Renteria said that the DACA clinics will be held on Monday, January 6th, and Tuesday, January 7th from 4 to 7 pm, at The IDEA College Preparatory (in the cafeteria), 600 E. Sioux Rd. San Juan, TX 78589.
