'Gambling' bust lands two in jail, 14 patrons cited

Hidalgo County Sheriff TMs investigators bust another 8-liner establishment operating in the Palmview area.
Sheriff Lupe Trevino said they executed a search warrant Wednesday afternoon at a building was located along a private road off the 7100 block of North Bentsen Palm Drive.
According to deputies, two employees, Ramona Noris Olivas, 61, and Maria Ledezma Lugo, 31, admitted they were paying out cash to patrons who won on the gambling machines.
Both woman were arrested with gambling promotion.
The fourteen people inside playing the 8-liners were issued gambling citations.
A total of 30 slots machines branded with Cameron County Tax Assessor stickers were seized along with $2,404.00 in cash.
Sheriff Trevino told Action 4 News the investigation is ongoing, and they will continue to search for the owner of the operation.
The Sheriff also warned that anyone caught playing 8-liners will be " given tickets and probaby face arrest in future raids".
