Two people are facing criminal charges following a gang disturbance at Harlingen's National Night Out celebration on Tuesday evening.
The Harlingen Police Department's Gang Eradication Unit was called to the celebration Fair Park around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that 24-year-old Jose Luis Perez was creating a disturbance by flashing gang signs and using vulgar langugage, drawing the attention of attendees.
Perez allegedly fought with officers when they tried to arrest him.
Police said that 21-year-old Danielle Ann Rodriguez jumped in and tried to grab and pull police officers away from Perez.
Officers charged Perez with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest while charging Rodriguez with assault of a public servant and interference with public duties.
The two appeared before a Harlingen municipal court judge where Perez was issued $2,337 dollars in bonds and Rodriguez was issued $12,000 dollars in bonds.
