A 22-year-old man is facing multiple criminal charges months after being identified as one of three suspects who beat a man at a gas station.
Brownsville police arrested Lee Roy Morin on multiple criminal charges early Sunday morning.
Investigators told Action 4 News that an officer pulled over Morin TMs car for a traffic violation off Expressway 77/83 around 2 a.m. Sunday.
The officer learned that Morin had an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault.
Morin allegedly tried to run away while handcuffed but was caught.
Police said Morin was one of three men who beat a 25-year-old man at a gas station off FM 802 back in September.
A motive was not clear but investigators said Morin beat the man with a baton until a store clerk intervened.
Morin is now behind bars under $26,500 in bonds for aggravated assault, evading arrest, escape and terroristic threat charges.
