Gas station robbed at knifepoint in Weslaco

A man is behind bars and expected to face a judge after he allegedly robbed a gas station in Weslaco at knife point.

It all happened at a Stripes convenience store at 725 South Texas Boulevard around 10 p.m. Monday.

Weslaco police arrested 40-year-old Antonio Rodriguez on an aggravated robbery charge.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Rodriguez robbed the store at knife point and fled the scene.

Rodiguez allegedly wakled into the store wearing women's underwear covering his face and demanding cash.

Investigators said Rodriguez ran to his nearby house were officers were able to arrest him.

Rodriguez appeared before a Weslaco Municipal Court judge early Tuesday afternoon where he was issued a $25,000 bond.
