GPS used to bust car thieves headed to Mexico

A GPS tracker led authorities to car thieves on Monday morning.

Houston couple, Evelio Martinez and Kirstie Vasquez were arrested on theft of a motor vehicle charges.

Officers were called around 7:15 a.m. to be on the lookout for a stolen red Ford F-250.

The theft victim said the truck was stolen out of Victoria, but he was tracking its location through GPS.

As the owner continued to give dispatchers the location of the truck, Brownsville police found the couple as they were about to cross the Veterans International Bridge.

The suspects are 25-year-old and 23-year-old.
