A Granjeo city commissioner is facing a DWI charge after a police officer allegedly saw him going the wrong way down a one-way street in downtown McAllen.
McAllen police arrested 26-year-old Robert Segura on a DWI charge near the 17th Street Nightclub District around 1:40 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Segura was driving his car the wrong way down the 300 block of South 16th Street.
An officer pulled Segura over and allegedly noticed alcohol on his breath.
Segura admitted that he had been drinking but refused to take a breathalyzer test.
The 26-year-old city commissioner appeared before a McAllen municipal judge where he was issued a $1,000 dollar bond.
Segura, who works as a teacher for the Valley View Independent School District, was first elected to office in May 2010.
Granjeo voters re-elected him in May 2012.
