A Gulf Cartel plaza boss is among 36 people arrested in a series of operations by Mexican authorities in Miguel Aleman and Reynosa.
The Mexican Navy (SEMAR) confirmed the arrest of Ricardo Salazar-Pequeo on Monday morning.
SEMAR officials identified Salazar-Pequeo as the Gulf Cartel's boss for Miguel Aleman, a border town across the Rio Grande from Roma, Texas.
Authorities said a series of operations started off on Wednesday, October 5th and ended with 11 gunmen being killed and the arrests of Salazar-Pequeo and 35 others.
SEMAR officials the first raids took place in the Colonias Villas del Roble, Las Haciendas y Chapultepec of Reynosa where marines arrested:

Investigators said the first two suspects were involved with street-level drug dealing while the next three were Gulf Cartel members and the other two were scouts.

Authorities seized 65 assault rifles, grenades, grenade launchers, ammunition and other heavy artillery items in all the operations.
