Authorities have confirmed that gun used during a fight at Niki Rowe High School was stolen from Mission police chief's patrol unit.
A student was arrested after firing the weapon during a fight during the afternoon Thursday, September 1st.
No injuries were reported but police arrested the student and took him to he Hidalgo County Juvenile Detention Center.
Mission Police Department officials confirmed on Wednesday that the gun used in the fight belonged to their agency.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the gun was stolen from Chief Leo Longoria's patrol unit back on August 4th.
Mission police said the gun had been reported as stolen at the time of the incident.
It's not clear how the teen acquired the gun but the case remains under investigation.
