Man barricades himself inside a home in Mission

Authorities used gas to subdue a domestic violene suspect who reportedly barricaded himself inside a home moments after police received reports of gunfire.

It all happened at a home off 3 Mile Line and Inspiration Road in Mission just before 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Mission police told Action 4 News that officers were called to the home late Wednesday morning due to a domestic disturbance.

Police were later called back to the same home after neighbors reported hearing gunfire from the house.

The suspect's wife and mother fled the home while the man allegedly barricaded himself inside the home.

Mission police set up a perimeter while their SWAT team arrived to negotiate.

Police ended up using carbon dioxide gas to subdue the man, who was found hiding in the attic.

Investigators reported seizing a shotgun inside the home while paramedics rushed the suspect to a local hospital for evaluation.
