Six suspects in a San Benito home invasion are behind bars after targeting the wrong home.
It all happened in a rural area of Cameron County near San Benito late Thursday night.
Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio held a press conference on Wednesday morning that six people had been arrested.
Sheriff Lucio said deputies chased a vehicle with three of the suspects after they fled the scene.
The others were arrested in raids in Hidalgo County with the help of the U.S. Marshalls, the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office and the San Juan Police Department.
The six men were identifed as:
Jose Guadalupe Martinez Angel Justino Loera-Gaytan Carlos Roberto Medina Alejandro Medina Pedro Perez-Mujica Guillermo Carlos Alberto Gonzalez-Loera
All six are each in custody in the Cameron County Jail under $150,000 dollar bonds for attempted home invasion and engaging in organized criminal activity charges.
Sheriff Lucio said the men planned to rob a house that had tens of thousands of dollars inside but the suspects went to the wrong home.
