Gunpoint robbery of gold chain lands three behind bars

Three men are facing criminal charges after being arrested in connection to a gunpoint robbery near La Plaza Mall in McAllen.

McAllen police arrested the following three men on aggravated robbery charges over the weekend:

Jose Angel Cazares, 35, Donna Israel David Gillum, 25, Pleasanton Miguel Angel Guzman, 25, Weslaco

Investigators said the three men are accused of a November 13th gunpoint robbery on the 2200 block of South 10th Street in McAllen back on November 13th.

According to police, the victim was meeting with them to sell a gold chain but one of them pulled out a gun and stole it from him.

Investigators also charged Cazares with possession of a controlled substance and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Gillum was also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of marijuana.

Cazares was issued $190,000 dollars in bonds while Gillum got $200,000 in bonds and Guzman got a $150,000 bond.
