Happening Now: Heavy Rains Impact Rush Hour

Right now, we are tracking a line of storms that is moving east along Highway 83 dropping heavy rain.
This line will move into western Cameron County by 6:30, and the coast by 8 p.m. Friday.
The biggest threats will be heavy rain which will cause reduced visibility and some ponding on roadways.
Motorists traveling Highway 83 this evening are encouraged to reduce speeds and leave distance between their vehicle and the one in front of them.
This is all part of a larger area of low pressure that continues to stream rich, tropical moisture into the area.
As it moves slowly west, it will bring the continued threat of heavy rains to the area through at least Saturday.
Particularly in the early morning Saturday, and in the afternoon as well.
