Harlingen CISD superintendent takes new job in Round Rock
Harlingen CISD Superintendent Steve Flores will be leaving both his job and the Rio Grande Valley.
The Round Rock ISD school board voted on Friday to approve Flores as their new superintendent.
According to the Round Rock ISD website, Flores will replace outgoing Superintendent Jesus Chavez, who announced his retirement in January.
Chavez served 35 years in education and was also the former superintendent in Harlingen as well as Corpus Christi.
Flores came to Harlingen from Dallas ISD in July 2008.
No interim superintendent has been named for Harlingen CISD where school board members will meet to decide what to do next.
