A Harlingen man is facing criminal charges after being accused of raping a 3-year-old boy.
Harlingen police arrested 29-year-old Eleazar Resendez III on Friday.
Investigators told Action 4 News started back on January 15th.
Police officers were called to the Valley Baptist Medical Center about a 3-year-old boy who had been raped.
An investigation allegedly revealed that Resendez was the suspect.
Detectives arrested Resendez at his West Flynn Avenue home on Friday.
Action 4 News does not identify victims of sexual abuse but investigators confirmed that Resendez knew the boy.
Resendez did not appear to have a previous criminal history and remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail under a $50,000 dollar bond.
