A former elementary school janitor will serve four years in prison after pleading guilty to making homemade child pornography.

Michael Angel Cantu appeared before Judge Oscar X. Garcia in the 357th State District Court on Monday morning.

Judge Garcia sentenced Cantu to four years in prison.

The 36-year-old Harlingen man pleaded guilty to sexual performance of a child and improper photography back in May.

At the time of his arrest back August 2012, Cantu worked a janitor for Treasure Hills Elementary School in Harlingen.

But he also had a part-time job at the Office Depot in Harlingen where a co-worker found a flash drive on the ground.

Looking to find the owner, employees looked on the flash drive and found pornographic images of an underage girl.
