Two Harlingen parents are facing criminal charges after their 3-year-old daughter was found wandering the streets while they were partying in a hotel room.
Harlingen police arrested 25-year-old Joshua Eli Sandoval and Meagan Jane Castro on a child endangerment charge early Saturday morning.
Investigators told Action 4 News that a witness found a 3-year-old girl walking towards the Stripes convenience store off Ed Carey Drive and Expressway 77/83 around 4:20 a.m. Saturday.
The witness told police that the girl was both scared and crying.
Investigators learned the girl had walked from a nearby hotel where Sandoval and Castro were partying in a room there.
Officers learned Sandoval and Castro left the girl and her 1-year-old brother alone in a hotel room while they went drinking in another room.
The children were turned to the custody of their grandmother while officers notified Child Protective Services.
A Harlingen municipal judge issued a $70,000 dollar bond for Sandoval and a $45,000 dollar bond for Castro.
