Harlingen police offering reward for 'Beer Run' suspect

      The Harlingen Police Department is looking for a man who has been stealing beer from Stripes Convenience Stores.

      Police said the man is responsible for at least two counts of thefts from the stores.

      Around 10:35 p.m. on Thursday night, the suspect went into the Stripes Store on the 900 block of Morgan Blvd.

      He grabbed two 20-packs of Budweiser beer, valued at $18.99 each, and walked out of the store without paying for them.

      A couple of hours later he was seen at the Stripes store at 2002 S. 23rd St, stealing two more 20-packs of beer from a cooler.

      He was captured on surveillance video and is believed to be involved in other Harlingen thefts.

      The suspect is described as being 5 TM 7 and in one of the thefts, he was wearing glasses.

      Harlingen Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
