A Harlingen man is behind bars after he allegedly fought with an officer arresting him for prostitution.
Harlingen police arrested 25-year-old Ramiro Garcia, Jr. over the weekend.
Investigators said an undercover officer was driving in downtown Harlingen when Garcia flagged him down.
Garcia allegedly asked for cash in exchange for sexual favors.
According to police, Garcia struggled with the undercover officer and another police officer had to come help arrest him.
Officers charged Garcia with prostitution and resisting arrest charges.
Records show that Garcia has a previous conviction for prostitution prompting an upgraded prostitution charge.
Garcia remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail under an $8,500 dollar bond.
