Harlingen 'stalker' slashes victim's tires, stares from outside her home

A Harlingen man was arrested for allegedly stalking his ex-girlfriend.

Police said Rene Banda Salinas slashed the victim TMs tires while he was outside her home early Thursday morning.

The victim said she had received a call from Salinas saying he could see her inside her house.

He described what she was wearing in full detail, according to the victim.

The victim had previously filed an active order of protection against Salinas because she was a victim of violence.

Salinas was taken into custody by San Benito police but transferred to the Harlingen Police Department.

He was charged with stalking, violation of protective order and criminal mischief.

The 48-year-old TMs bonds totaled $44,000.
