January 2011 was a tough month for the city of Harlingen, with Police Chief Danny Castillo resigning from his position and also disagreements between commissioners.
But despite these issues, Mayor Chris Boswell said the city is heading in the right direction with new jobs, such as the new VA Surgical Center, the new Reese Building, and soon enough the Bass Pro Shop.
But despite the positive news, some residents are still questioning the city's leadership.
Irma Garcia believes there are too many things that have gone wrong with the city of Harlingen for them to rebound.
She said city leaders need to get together and figure things out.
But Boswell disputes there are any problems and say residents should focus on the good that is happening throughout the city.
