Harlingen teen arrested in hit-and-run accident

A juvenile should be charged today for a hit-and-run accident in Harlingen.

According to Harlingen police, the accident happened Sunday around 5:30 p.m. on the corner of Findley and Mendez street.

The 16-year-old juvenile allegedly hit a child under 10-years-old.

The child was reportedly riding his bike.

The child reportedly received some minor injuries, and the driver took off.

The driver was found a short time later and arrested, according to Harlingen police.

He TMs expected to have a hearing today.

He could face charges of failure to stop and render aid.

Both the suspect and victim are reported to be from Harlingen.
